Sibelius USA Inc. , a part of Avid began
supporting a pilot project to bring some schools from across the
country into the VT MIDI Project during the 2005-2006 school year. If
interested in participating for 2008-2009, contact Sandi MacLeod.
Current schools from outside Vermont are
from the states of Illinois, Washington, New York, Connecticut, and
Oklahoma.
With the goal of improving music
education, the Sibelius program and the VT MIDI Project make an ideal
team. The readily accessible Sibelius notation software and Sibelius
Scorch provide a captivating platform for students to enter, edit,
view, share and playback their scores. The Vermont MIDI Project
provides online mentoring for student work, live performance of student
compositions, and professional development for teachers utilizing
Sibelius software to implement composition in the curriculum.
